接続詞・前置詞・句読法 — 文と文のつながりを読む

意味と文法の両面から最適な接続表現を選択する。

空所前後の主語・述語構造を把握し、「文（S+V）同士をつなぐのか／名詞句を導くのか／独立節を副詞で接続するのか」を判定。句読法（セミコロン・カンマ）と並列関係も同時にチェックする。

句読法パターン

  • 独立節 ; 接続副詞, 独立節（例: ... ; however, ...）
  • 等位接続詞は , and / , but で独立節を接続。従属接続詞 although/because/while は S+V を導く（Although S+V, ... / S, although S+V, ...）。
  • 前置詞の後は名詞・名詞句・動名詞（-ing）

並列・一致のチェック

  • 相関接続詞では並列形を揃える（not only X but also Y：品詞・形を対応）
  • リスト接続では品詞・形を維持（名詞＋名詞＋名詞／to不定詞＋to不定詞）

ひっかけ注意

  • ✕ despite of → ○ despite / in spite of
  • ✕ because / although + 名詞 → ○ because of / despite + 名詞（because/although は節接続）
  • ✕ due to + 節 → ○ due to + 名詞（be 動詞の補語として使われやすい）
  • 接続副詞（however/therefore）は等位接続詞ではない → 独立節同士をつなぐには「; however,」などの句読法が必要
  • while は「同時進行／対比」どちらもあり文脈で判断。during は前置詞（名詞が続く）
  • since は「起点（時）」と「理由（原因）」の両義。曖昧なら because に置換検討
  • on the other hand は対比の片側。単独使用は避け、文脈で一対を意識
  • 先行指示が曖昧な this/that を単独で置かない。必要なら名詞を補う（this approach, this result）
  • コンマスプライス：独立節をカンマだけで接続しない（, however は不可 → ; however, または. However,）

節をつなぐ接続詞

because, although, while など主語＋動詞を伴う。

コツ: 前後とも完全な文（S+V）になるか確認。原因・譲歩・対比の別を意味で判断。

句を導く前置詞

because of, despite, due to, in addition to の後ろは名詞・動名詞。

接続副詞 + セミコロン

therefore, however などは「; however,」の形で文を接続。
