語順・修飾位置・並列 — 読みやすく誤解のない文

修飾語の位置、平行構造、相関接続詞の整合。

修飾語はできるだけ被修飾語の近くへ置き、主語との論理的一致を確認。並列は品詞・形・構文を揃え、列挙のカンマは文書内で一貫させる。形容詞は慣用順（opinion-size-age-color-origin-material-purpose + noun）を基本とする。
以下のポイントを順番に押さえ、同じパターンの問題で解き方を再現できるようにしましょう。

配置・語順のルール

  • 不定詞/分詞の主語一致（Dangling participle を避ける）：To improve efficiency, the team ...
  • 副詞 only の位置で意味が変わる（only the budget / reviewed only / only yesterday）。
  • 長い修飾語は被修飾語の直前/直後に置き、割り込みを最小化。

並列構造のルール

  • 相関接続詞：both A and B / not only A but also B / either A or B（A・Bの品詞と形を対応）。
  • 箇条書き・列挙：語尾や形（動名詞/不定詞/名詞）を統一（creating, writing, testing）。
  • 比較や所有の並列も形を揃える（higher revenue than that of X / those of X）。

列挙のカンマ

  • 列挙：A, B, and C（オックスフォードカンマの採否は文書内で統一）。
  • 等位接続 and/but/or の前は独立節同士ならカンマ、単語/句の並列なら通常不要。

形容詞の順序ヒント

  • 順序：opinion → size → age → color → origin → material → purpose + noun。
  • 多過ぎる前置修飾は読みづらい → of 句や後置修飾に逃がす（a box for storage made of plastic）。

ひっかけ注意

  • Dangling participle：✕ Walking to the station, the rain started. → ○ While I was walking ..., it started to rain.
  • only の誤配置：✕ She only reviewed the budget yesterday.（「レビュー以外しなかった」）→ ○ She reviewed only the budget yesterday.
  • 二重の構文混在：not only reduce but also improving（品詞不一致）。
  • 列挙の形の不統一：creating, to write, and testing → 全て -ing に揃える。
  • 形容詞順の錯綜：✕ a Japanese plastic blue small box → ○ a small new blue Japanese plastic box。

誤修飾を避ける

コツ: 分詞/不定詞の論理主語を主節の主語と一致させ、only 等の副詞は修飾対象の直前へ。

opinion-size-age-color-origin-material-purpose + noun

コツ: 過多な前置修飾は of 句や関係節で後置に逃がす。原則順を崩すと不自然になりやすい。
