Động từ nguyên mẫu, danh động từ và phân từ
Phân biệt vai trò khác nhau của to-V, V-ing và mệnh đề phân từ.
Không nhầm lẫn giữa cách dùng chỉ mục đích, danh từ hoá và tính từ hoá.
⚠️Bẫy thường gặp — các lỗi hay mất điểm
- Sau giới từ là -ing: ✕ before to start → ○ before starting.
- to trong look forward to / be committed to / object to là giới từ → theo sau là V-ing.
- ✕ consider to do / ✕ suggest to do → ○ consider/suggest doing.
- Phân biệt used to: be used to + V-ing (đã quen với) ≠ used to + V nguyên mẫu (trước đây từng).
- Sự hoà hợp chủ ngữ của phân từ: chủ ngữ logic của cụm phân từ phải khớp với mệnh đề chính (tránh dangling participle).
- Cảm xúc -ed / -ing: người dùng -ed (interested), sự vật dùng -ing (interesting).
- Sự hoà hợp thì với perfect infinitive / perfect gerund: seem to have done / having done diễn tả "trước-sau".
- Bị động của to-V: chú ý dạng to be done / to have been done.
